Meeting of the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and the MEP, Mr. Ivo Vajgl
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi had a meeting with the MEP, Mr. Ivo Vajgl. Welcoming Mr. Vajgl to the Republic of Macedonia, the President Xhaferi informed him on the current affairs in the politics as well as the planned activities in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia by the end of this calendar year.
The MEP and Rapporteur of the Republic of Macedonia to the European Parliament, Mr. Ivo Vajgl expressed appreciation for the opportunity to meet the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi and to discuss the ongoing changes in direction of fulfilment of the obligations connected with the Euro – Atlantic processes. The European Parliament supports the Republic of Macedonia on the path to the European Union and works on the equal treatment of the Western Balkan States on regional level.
In addition to the interest of the current affairs and the developments since the most recent visit of the MEPs in August, the meeting referred to the possibility of opening dialogue between the political groups in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for particular topics. This dialogue, under the auspices of the European parliament, aims to contribute in creation of positive atmosphere in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and to improve the communication of the opposition and the governance for particular issues.
The Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia remains dedicated to the reforms necessary to approach the Republic of Macedonia to the European Union and receiving positive recommendation by the European Commission at the beginning of next year.
