Meeting of the President Xhaferi and Mr. Gramoz Ruçi, President of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania  

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi, in the framework of the 8th Conference of Speakers of Parliament of the Countries of the Western Balkans held in Budapest, met with Mr. Gramoz Ruçi, President of the Assembly of the Republic of Albania.   

The interlocutors expressed pleasure from the high level bilateral relations between the two states and expressed expectation that the parliamentary cooperation, as the easiest manner of cooperation between the states will be promoted and intensified, on the level of Parliamentary Groups for Cooperation, as well as on the Level of Presidents of Assemblies. The President of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania reaffirmed the invitation for Mr. Xhaferi to visit the Republic of Albania. 

The interlocutors also agreed that the establishment of the new Governments opens possibilities for the two states for further deepening the cooperation in all areas, especially in the area of economy, which in reality, citizens have most benefits from.

In this context Mr. Xhaferi underlined the efforts of the new Government of the Republic of Macedonia in direction of building good neighbourly relations and regional cooperation with all states from the Region and beyond, especially the importance paid to the good and friendly relations with Albania. 

The harmonization of the activities and achievement of the mutual interests in the area of foreign policy, EU and NATO integration as well as the regional cooperation is of high importance. 

At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors welcomed the adoption of the Law on Minorities, adopted by the Parliament of the Republic of  Albania. The Presidents shared the mutual conviction and expectation that the dynamics of the bilateral cooperation between the two Assemblies will be increased in the future, providing the two Assemblies with the opportunity to exchange opinions and experience from the parliamentary work, the international policies and other affairs.
