MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND THE AUSTRALIAN DELEGATION TO IPU

The Delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), led by President Talat Xhaferi, had a meeting today with the Australian delegation to the IPU, led by Lucy Wicks, MP in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of Australia. The meeting was held within the framework of the 141. IPU Assembly, held from 13-17 October 2019 in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia.

Within the 141. Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly, held from 13 to 17 October 2019 in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia, the Delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia to the IPU, led by President Talat Xhaferi, had a meeting today with the delegations of Mexico and Bosnia and Herzegovina to IPU.

MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND THE PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF SLOVENIA, DEJAN ŽIDAN

The presidents of the parliaments of North Macedonia and Slovenia agreed that this meeting was yet another confirmation of the excellent bilateral relations between the two states, which have been continuously friendly with no open issues, and were based on traditional friendship, strong strategic partnership, long-term constructive cooperation and support, both bilaterally and multilaterally.

In the framework of the 141. Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly, held from 13-17 October 2019 in Belgrade, Republic of Serbia, a meeting was held between Talat Xhaferi, President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia and Ali Ardashir Larijani, President of the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran, at the request of Mr. Larijani.

MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND THE AMBASSADOR OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA TO THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH MACEDONIA, MR. Zhang Zuo

Congratulating him, on behalf of the deputies of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia and on his own behalf, on the new post and wishing him a successful diplomatic mission, President Xhaferi highlighted that the Embassy of the People's Republic of China has continuously encouraged and contributed significantly to the development and advancement of the relations between the two states.

MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND THE NEWLY APPOINTED AMBASSADOR OF THE KINGDOM OF THE NETHERLANDS TO THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH MACEDONIA, H.E. DIRK JAN COP

At today's first meeting between the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia and the newly appointed Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of North Macedonia, H.E. Dirk Jan Kop, President Xhaferi wished the guest a successful mandate and expressed his gratitude and satisfaction with the co-operation with the previous ambassador.

PRESIDENT XHAFERI MEETS WITH DEPUTY HEAD OF EU DELEGATION AND EXPERT TEAM OF EU PROJECT "SUPPORT TO PARLIAMENT IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF REFORMS"

Today, President Xhaferi had a protocol meeting with the Deputy Head of the EU Delegation in Skopje, Mr. Julian Vassallo. At the same time, this meeting also marked the completion of the two-year EU-funded project "Support to Parliament in the Implementation of Reforms". Aside from President Xhaferi, the meeting was also attended by Secretary General Ivanova and the two experts implementing the project, Mr. Edmond Miletić and Mr. Tibor Draskovics.

FAREWELL MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND MS. DANIJELA BARISIC, AMBASSADOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF CROATIA TO THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH MACEDONIA

At the meeting, president Xhaferi expressed gratitude for the past co-operation and support from friendly Croatia. The two interlocutors also discussed the current issues of the Republic of North Macedonia. Special emphasis was put on the topic of NATO membership, as well as on the forthcoming Presidency of the Republic of Croatia in the Council of the European Union and their programme and priorities.

PARTICIPATION OF PRESIDENT XHAFERI IN THE WORKING SESSION OF THE AMBASSADORIAL COUNCIL

At the invitation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Nikola Dimitrov, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi participated in a working session today with the heads of diplomatic and consular missions of the Republic of North Macedonia.

MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND US DEPUTY SECRETARY OF STATE, MR. JOHN J. SELIVAN

Today, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi had a meeting with Mr. John J. Sullivan, US Deputy Secretary of State.

At the meeting, President Xhaferi expressed gratitude to the United States as a strategic partner of our country, for their continued support not only to the Republic of Macedonia, but also to the entire region. He introduced the high profile guest with the ongoing activities in the legislature regarding the adoption of the draft constitutional amendments, as a phase of the implementation of the Prespa Agreement, expecting therefore that the process will be completed by mid January 2019.
