MR. ANDREJ PETROV TOOK PART AT THE CONFERENCE OF THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION IN JERUSALEM

The member of the Committee on Health Care of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia Mr. Andrej Petrov participated at the Conference of the World Health Organization held in Jerusalem. The main topic on the Conference agenda was the European Policy for Health - Health 2020.

The first WHO European Conference on the New European Policy for Health: “Working together across sectors for health and well-being” provided the opportunity for exchange of experiences in the field of health care. It was emphasized that more needs to be invested in disease prevention in order to improve health protection and reduce costs.

The participants of the Conference also visited the University Medical Center in Jerusalem with more than 2000 physicians, where they could learn more about the universal health care system in Israel and discuss the situation regarding health insurance in the European countries. 

The role of the ministries, parliaments and the NGO sector in light of Health 2020 was also discussed at the Conference in Jerusalem.
