Higgins; the Minister on European Affairs; Ms. Lucinda Creighton, the Joint Committee on European Affairs and the Irish- Macedonian Friendship Group.  |

Tuesday, 2 April 2013, Belgrade The friendly relations and the mutual support between the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Serbia were once again confirmed at today’s meeting of the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski and the Serbian President, Mr. Tomislav Nikolik. The topics of the meeting referred to the challenges of the two states expecting the date on opening accession negotiations with EU; the discussion on the name dispute, but also the church issue between the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Serbia and the possibility for surpassing it.  |
