Foreign Policy Committee The Foreign Policy Committee has a Chairperson and twelve members elected among the Representatives of the Assembly and four members - scientists and experts.
The Committee considers questions regarding:
-foreign policy of the Republic of Macedonia and its relations with other states and international organizations;
-policy which provides care for the status and the rights of the Macedonian population in the neighboring countries and for the Macedonian ex-patriates, as well as for the cultural, economic and social rights of its citizens in foreign countries;
-joining or resigning from alliance or union with other states;
-joining or resigning from membership in international organizations;
-need for starting negotiations for reaching bilateral and multilateral international agreements of the Republic of Macedonia, i.e. for platforms of these negotiations;
-ratification of international agreements;
-proposals for appointing ambassadors of the Republic of Macedonia to foreign countries and conducts hearings of platforms for their activity;
-international regulation concerning human and civil rights and freedoms and documents of the international organizations and associations;
-establishement of parliamentary co-operation of the Republic with other states and international organizations;
-establishement of co-operation with respective foreign policy committees of the parliaments of other states;
-initiatives and proposals for defining a foreign policy strategy of the Republic of Macedonia;
- initiatives for discussions in the Assembly on different current topics regarding the foreign policy, and
- other questions regarding the foreign policy of the Republic of Macedonia.
