Participation of the Delegation from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia in the PA of the Mediterranean and the Parliament of the Republic of Turkey
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, in cooperation with the Turkish Parliament are organizing the 4-th Annual Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, which will take place in Istanbul, Republic of Turkey on 23 and 24 October 2009.
At this Session, the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia shall be represented by Mr. Safet Neziri, MP, member of the Delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean and Mr. Vanco Kocev, MP, alternate-member of the Delegation.
The Session is dedicated to a debate on the draft-resolutions prepared on the basis of the Draft-reports by the three standing committees which refer to: Situation in Middle East, organized crime, fight against terrorism, dialog of cultures and religions in the Mediterranean region, energy related issues in the Mediterranean region, environment and climate change, water management, natural disaster management, small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as the gender and equality issues. Those reports have been debated during the 4th Meeting of the Standing committees held at the end of June in Lisbon, Portuguese Republic.
Eminent political figures shall have their addresses before the PAM parliamentarians, such as: Hon. Mehmet Ali Sahin, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, H.E. Reccep Tayyip Erdogan, Prime Minister of Turkey, H.E. Prof.Dr. Ahmet Davutoglu, Foreign Minister of Turkey, Mr. Robert Walter, President of the Assembly of WEU, Dr. Sima Bahous, Assistant Secretary General of the League of Arab States, as well as Mrs. Karen AbuZayd, UNRWA Commissioner general.
