DEEPENED COOPERATION BETWEEN MACEDONIA AND UKRAINE WILL BENEFIT THE CITIZENS OF BOTH STATES 

The Chair of the Parliamentary Group from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for Cooperation with the Parliament of Ukraine, Mr. Oliver Spasovski had a meeting with H.E. Yuriy Honcharuk, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Macedonia. The Deputy Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Ana Tertichna and Mr. Haralampie Shokarovski, Members of the Parliamentary Group from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for Cooperation with the Parliament of Ukraine attended the meeting. 

The Chairman Spasovski underlined that the meeting was initiated in direction of establishing contacts and to continue the cooperation and the relations between the two states. 

He also, informed the Ambassador that the Parliamentary Group from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for Cooperation with the Parliament of Ukraine sent a letter to the Hungarian Parliament initiating interparliamentary cooperation.

The relations so far are characterised with spirit  of  good cooperation, which should continue, since this will benefit the citizens of both states, underlined Mr. Spasovski. 

H.E. Yuriy Honcharuk  underlined that the bilateral relations are good, underlining several concrete projects;  some of them already finalised. Also, Ukraine proposed visa liberalization for the Macedonian citizens.

The Macedonian Language Studies in the  Ukrainian University have started in September, and from January 2012, the Ukrainian Language Studies will start in “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University in Skopje. 

The MP Haralampie Shokarovski underlined that the barriers between the two friendly nations should be removed, since this is in the interest of the economy, politics and the culture. 

Mr. Oliver Spasovski stated that he expects positive answer from the Ukrainian Parliament for parliamentary cooperation.
