THE MACEDONIAN EXPERIENCE CAN HELP IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF A BETTER HEALTH CARE SYSTEM IN KOSOVO

The Law on Health Care and the Law on Health Protection, as basic laws in the field of health care in the Republic of Macedonia, were the main topic of discussion at the meeting of the Committee on Health Care of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and the Committee on Health, Labour and Social Welfare of the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo.

The guests from Kosovo expressed appreciation for the possibility to exchange views and opinions that could help them in the preparation of the laws in the field of health care.

They showed interest in the Macedonian health care system, the manner of collection of contributions, the organization and privatization of the health care system, the role of the medical chambers, the pension system, and other issues.

The Macedonian parliamentarians informed their colleagues about the functioning of the system and their experience in the preparation and adoption of the laws in this field in order to create a health care system suitable to the needs of the citizens.

Both sides agreed that the Health Care Committees have an important role in the society and expressed readiness for continuation of the cooperation.
