Assembly delegation on the 62nd national prayer breakfast in washington

Delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia headed by the Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Suzana Salu, comprised of the MPs: Ms. Silvana Boneva, Mr. Vladimir Gjorchev and Mr. Andrej Petrov attended the 62nd National Prayer Breakfast in Washington. 

During the stay, the Delegation had a meeting with Ms. Candice Miller, Member of the US House of Representatives; the Congressman Frank Wolf, Republican from Virginia and Ms. Jenice Hahn, MP (Democrat- California) in the US House of Representatives and Co – Chair of the Annual Prayer Breakfast. 

The Delegation expressed appreciation for the principle support in the European integration of Macedonia and reaffirmed the dedication of the country in the fulfilment of this goal. Also, the Republic of Macedonia was presented as a country which cherishes the multiethnicity, multi – confessionalism, multiculture, and in this context is the leader in Europe. 

It was reiterated that due to the blockade by the Republic of Greece, our state cannot become member of EU and NATO, besides the fact that it has fulfilled all the criteria. It was requested USA not to allow further isolation of the Republic of Macedonia in the integration of NATO and EU. 

Underlining that the activities supporting the Republic of Macedonia will continue, the hosts expressed hope that the enlargement will be high on the agenda of the next NATO Summit and that the Republic of Macedonia will soon receive the deserved membership in the Alliance. 

An invitation for visit of the Republic of Macedonia during the Balkan Prayer Breakfast, which this year will be held in our country, was delivered.
