MEETING BETWEEN PRESIDENT XHAFERI AND THE AMBASSADOR OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF CHINA TO THE REPUBLIC OF NORTH MACEDONIA, MR. Zhang Zuo
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi met with the newly appointed Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Zhang Zuo.
Congratulating him, on behalf of the deputies of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia and on his own behalf, on the new post and wishing him a successful diplomatic mission, President Xhaferi highlighted that the Embassy of the People's Republic of China has continuously encouraged and contributed significantly to the development and advancement of the relations between the two states. He expressed hope that the development of economic co-operation would be high on Ambassador Zhang's agenda and that this would result in an increase in the number of Chinese companies finding their interest in the Republic of North Macedonia.
President Xhaferi also expressed hope that, in addition to the bilateral co-operation in the fields of science, education, culture, defence, agriculture, tourism, health and medicine, co-operation would continue within the 17 + 1 initiative between China and Central and Eastern European Countries.
Ambassador Zhang conveyed greetings from the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Mr. Li Zhanshu, and from the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Mr. Wang Yang and Mr. Zhang Qingli, with whom a high delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, led by President Xhaferi, met during an official visit to the People’s Republic of China in June, this year.
Ambassador Zhang underlined that PRC pays particular attention to the excellent co-operation between the two countries. He also welcomed the co-operation within the 17 + 1 initiative and expressed hope that it would be intensified in the coming period, with the aim of achieving concrete results by the next China-CEE summit to be chaired by President Xi Jinping. Ambassador Zhang said that he will work on intensifying the co-operation in the legislative field in the upcoming period.
