Meeting of the President and the Ambassador Jan Petersen
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski welcomes the Head of the Monitoring Mission of OSCE/ODIHR to the Republic of Macedonia, Ambassador Jan Petersen.
The Ambassador Petersen underlined that their mission and obligations in regards with the elections are ongoing aside from the postponement of the early parliamentary elections that were scheduled for 5th June 2016. Also, the Ambassador underlined that they shall draft a report, which is not a classical report, but in his opinion will be beneficial for the state in the upcoming period. He emphasised that they are neutral monitors and their mission is focused on the evaluation of the conditions for the elections in regards with the Copenhagen criteria.
The President Veljanoski underlined that as a President he is open for cooperation with all institutions involved in the election process and that if there are remarks in the Report of the Mission will be welcomed, to be corrected timely.
