Meeting of the president Xhaferi with ambassador Rames

The president of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Talat Xhaferi received today to a farewell visit the ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Miroslav Rames, who handed a personal congratulation and congratulations of the Presidents of the Lower House and the Senate of the Czech Republic for election as a president of the Assembly.

The Ambassador underlined the further readiness of the Czech Republic to help the Republic of Macedonia with a concrete material and human assistance in dealing with the migrant crisis, since the Republic of Macedonia is defending the borders for the Czech Republic but also for whole Europe from the influx of migrants. There is a fear of escalation of the migrant wave coming from Africa, and therefore Czech together with the rest of the countries from the Visegrad group will further more strongly support the Republic of Macedonia with a concrete financial and material help and with members of the police forces deployed on the southern border.

At the same time, in the future, the Czech Republic will strongly support the Republic of Macedonia on the plan of her final integration to European Union and NATO.

Mister Xhaferi informed the Ambassador about the current activities in the Assembly, since, as the president emphasized "Only with closing of the opened issues and with a committed resolution of the problems we can unburdened continue forward with these processes because this is what over 70% of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia desire and expect.

The interlocutors concluded that the Republic of Macedonia and the Czech Republic continuously achieve solid bilateral cooperation on all levels and expressed convictions that the cooperation will also continue in the future, after the parliamentary elections in the Czech Republic in October this year.

Voicing support for continuance of the further close inter parliamentary cooperation, both at the level of presidents of parliaments and at the level of parliamentary cooperation groups, the interlocutors agreed that the established friendly relations should be cherished with a strong commitment and mutual trust.
