International Day of Democracy

As part of celebrating the International Day of Democracy, 15th September, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski, had meetings with the citizens who visited the Assembly.

In this way the President continues with the policy of opened doors, allowing easier access to the Assembly for the citizens.

At the meetings, the questions for the President were mostly about the roles and the duties of the President of the Assembly.

Schoolchildren also visited the Assembly, and were interested about the functioning of the Assembly. The President explained the work of the Assembly.

Do you have to learn all the time to be a President of the Assembly? -was one of the questions from the young people.

- Unlike you, who have lessons to learn, I don’t, but I have to read laws, and many other documents which are part of the Assembly’s work. But, I would like to point out that today learning does not end in the schools. When you finish school, and maybe become a Member of Parliament, you will also have to work on developing your knowledge.
