Poland Ratified the Lisbon Treaty

On 10th October the President of the Republic of Poland Mr. Lech Kaczyński signed the Decree on the Lisbon Treaty, thus completing the ratification of the European reform agreement of his county. After this ratification, the President of the Czech Republic Mr. Václav Klaus is the only one left to sign the Lisbon Treaty, in order for it to enter into force.

„The reform agreement with the EU has an important role for us. It brings Europe the needed changes which are urgent and necessary“, siad Kaczyński. 

The President of the European Parliament Mr. Jerzy Buzek, the President of the European Commission Mr. José Manuel Barroso, as well as the Swedish Prime Minister and President of the European Union Mr. Fredrik Reinfeldt, attended the ceremony of ratification in the Presidential Palace.
