ELEVENTH MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE ON DEFENCE AND SECURITY

At its eleventh meeting, the Committee on Defence and Security, as the relevant body, held the first reading of the Draft-law on Military Academy and the Draft-law on Internal Affairs.

The representative of the Government pointed out the goals that will be realized with the establishing of the Military Academy, where personnel for the needs of the Army and of the other institutions dealing with crisis management will be educated.

Regarding the Draft-law on Internal Affairs, the MPs pointed out the possibility for the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with special competences to retire with completed 40 years of working experience, which is different from the current legal solutions, because of the specific nature of the tasks performed within the Ministry.

The Committee concluded that the two draft-laws are acceptable, and that they should proceed to second reading.
