Meeting of the Delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia with Mr. Zoran Thaler, Rapporteur for the Republic of Macedonia
The Delegation of the Committee on European Issues composed of: Mr. Mile Pačemski, Mr. Talat Xhaferi and Mr. Emilijan Stanković, in the framework of the visit to the European Parliament, had a meeting with Mr. Zoran Taler, Rapporteur for the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament (AFET) for the Republic of Macedonia.
The Macedonian delegation informed Mr. Thaler about the key priorities - receiving the date for opening the accession negotiations, visa liberalization, and obtaining the accreditation for decentralized management with the IPA funds by the end of the year.
The Rapporteur Mr. Thaler, congratulated the Macedonian Delegation the positive Progress Report from the EC, as well as the political consensus reached on the European issues and the successful fulfilment of the conditions for the visa regime liberalization, He informed the Delegation that next month he will start with the preparation for the Progress Report for next year, and to this aim he will visit the Republic of Macedonia on 29 October 2009.
The Delegation also met with Ms. Norica Nicolai, MEP (ALDE) and Shadow Rapporteur for Macedonia.
Today and tomorrow our Delegation will have meetings with Elmar Brok, (EPP) - Coordinator in the European Parliament committees of the largest Political Group in the European Parliament, with the Jorgo Chatzimarkakis, as well as with other MEP.
