“Overview of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia” Panel Discussion

The House Democracy Partnership Commission (HDP) of the US Congress and the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, in cooperation with the National Democratic Institute (NDI), and supported by USAID in the Republic of Macedonia, organized a working seminar for the Assembly Staff, the members of the Staff of the committees from the Parliament of Georgia, the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo, and the State Great Hural (Parliament) of Mongolia during this week. 

This is the first seminar for the Staff organized by the House Democracy Partnership outside the United States, with the Parliament of the partner-country as co-organizer. 

A panel discussion was organized today in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia on the topic “Overview of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia”.

The panellists were Ms. Silvana Boneva - Coordinator of the Parliamentary Group of VMRO-DPMNE, Mr.Tahir Hani - Coordinator of the Parliamentary Group of DUI, Mr. Jani Makraduli - Vice-President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia from SDSM, Ms. Radmila Šekerinska - Chairperson of the National European Integration Council from SDSM, Mr. Marjan Madzovski - Head of the Cabinet of the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, and Mr. Chris Henshaw - Resident Senior Director in Macedonia.

The participants from the Parliaments of Georgia and Mongolia, the US Congress and the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo were interested in the work of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and asked many questions.

Among other issues, the guests were interested in the role of the National European Integration Council in the process of European integration of the Republic of Macedonia, the expectations from the Parliamentary Institute, which is in process of establishment, the budget of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for the E-Parliament of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, which the Global Centre on Applied ICT Solutions in  Parliaments and the IPU assessed as one of the most successful in the world.
