THE INTERNATIONAL PARLIAMENTARY SCHOLARSHIP STRENGTHENS THE EDUCATIONAL SPIRIT OF THE MACEODNIAN YOUTH

The Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for Cooperation with the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Jovan Ginev and the Members, had a meeting with Mr. Helmut Lamp, MP in the German Bundestag. The Delegation was accompanied by H.E. Mrs. Ulrike Knotz, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Macedonia. 

Mr. Ginev emphasized the good bilateral relations with Germany - a friendly country and continuous supporter of NATO and EU integration of the Republic of Macedonia. 

After the 2009 Progress Report, and in expectation of the date for opening of the accession negotiations, Mr. Jovan Ginev said that he expects constructive support from Germany. He expressed gratitude that the young people from Macedonia can use the International Parliamentary Scholarship for students from Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, granted by Germany. 

Mr. Helmut Lamp pointed out that the Assembly prepares the young people for the political, economic and academic life, and said that when they are coming to Germany they are already prepared and have the opportunity to use their experience gained in Germany in Macedonia.

The German MP expressed his pleasure for being in Macedonia in such a historical moment, when Macedonia received the positive Report form the European Commission, which will make Macedonia even more interesting for the German Bundestag. At the same time he recommended the establishing of even more intensive contacts between the two countries. 

The Members of the Parliamentary Group of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for Cooperation with the Parliament from the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany: Mr. Rafiz Aliti, Mr. Aleksandar Spasenovski and Ms. Hristina Runcheva, expressed their conviction that the highly developed relations between the two countries will continue in the future.
