The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski met the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria Tsetska Tsacheva and the IPU Delegation from Argentina

In the framework of the 121st Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly, taking place from 19th to 21st October in Geneva, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski had meetings with the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Bulgaria Tsetska Tsacheva.

At the meeting both Presidents expressed their commitment for maintaining good neighbourly relations and intensifying the cooperation on parliamentary level. The Republic of Macedonia expects cooperation and support on its path towards full membership in the EU and NATO, where the Bulgarian experience in the negotiations will be useful for Macedonia. 

Both Presidents agreed that the cooperation regarding Corridor 8, as an important regional corridor, needs to be strengthened.

President Veljanoski conveyed his condolences following the accident on Ohrid Lake, and said that the Republic of Macedonia, with assistance from foreign experts, is working on clarification of all the details from the accident.

President Veljanoski also had a meeting with the IPU Delegation from Argentina. He emphasized the need for strengthening of the parliamentary cooperation between the two countries. The MP’s from Argentina were informed about the Government’s decision to open an Embassy of the Republic of Macedonia to Argentina during next year.
