49TH MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE ON ECONOMY
The Committee on Economy from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia on its 49th Meeting held on 19 October 2010, as a competent working body reviewed the Draft-law on Energy (first reading).
Mr. Fatmir Besimi, Minister on Economy elaborated the Draft-law and underlined that the adoption of this Law is in line with the harmonization of the legislation in the area of energy, i.e. the Directives and Regulations of the EU which are basic principles of the legal framework of the Agreement Establishing the Energy Community, aiming to liberalize the energy markets and to create conditions for stabile and sustainable energy sector.
The MPs: Ljubisav Ivanov- Dzingo; Jani Makraduli; Jovan Lazarev; Radmila Shekerinska; Liljana Popovska; the Vice Prime Minister Mr. Vladimir Peshevski; the Minister on Economy Mr. Fatmir Besimi, the Head of the Regulatory Committee on Energy, Mr. Dimitar Petrov; ZELS; the Mayor from the Municipality of Chair Mr. Ixhet Mexhiti; Professor Rubin Taleski from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering; Mr. Risto Janevski, Representative of the OKTA Refinery and Ms. Jasna Ivanova Davidovik, Representative from ELEM participated in the debate.
After the debate the Committee on Economy, unanimously concluded that the Draft-law on Energy is acceptable and that it should proceed in further reading.
