THE INTERNATIONAL PARLIAMENTARY SCHOLARSHIP Project - OPPORTUNITY FOR building friendship among STUDENTS from different countries

Mr. Jovan Ginev, Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for Cooperation with the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany, had a meeting with the Delegation from the German Bundestag visiting Macedonia in the framework of the International Parliamentary Scholarship Project (IPS). The Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Rafis Aliti, and the parliamentarians Mr. Aleksandar Spasenovski Mr. Igor Ivanovski and Ms. Hristina Runcheva also attended the meeting

The German Delegation was headed by Ms. Ute Kumpf, Member of the German Bundestag, accompanied by the Director of the Institute of Physics of the Humboldt University in Berlin and the Deputy Head of the Management and Technology Department.

The Chairman of the Parliamentary Friendship Group, Mr. Jovan Ginev, welcomed the guests on behalf of the Group and emphasized the good bilateral relations between the Republic of Macedonia and the Federal Republic of Germany, a friendly country and supporter of the Republic of Macedonia in its aspirations for integration in NATO and the EU.

Ms. Ute Kumpf emphasised that she was positively surprised by the progress and the modernization of the democratic process in the Republic of Macedonia, the activities of the civil society, as well as by the number of women and young people in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia. 

The IPS is a traditional activity of the German Bundestag, which provides an excellent opportunity for the young graduate people from the SEE countries to be acquainted with the German parliamentary system. 

Mr. Ginev expressed appreciation for the possibilities offered with this Program to the young people from the Republic of Macedonia and from Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe, because this project is an excellent opportunity for the young people to meet German politicians and to learn more about the parliamentary, academic, cultural and economic life, and to later transfer their experience in their countries. 

The IPS is granted to students from 28 countries and is an opportunity for the scholarship student to meet each other and communicate through the joint network which has two roles: on one hand they are ambassadors of the Republic of Macedonia to the Federal Republic of Germany, and on the other hand after their return to the Republic of Macedonia they are ambassadors of the Federal Republic of Germany - underlined Ms. Kumpf. 

The Members of the Parliamentary Group stated tat the cooperation with the Federal Republic of Germany is excellent and that this cooperation is very important. They also emphasized the importance of the German donations in the Republic of Macedonia as an element for connection between the two countries contributing to the development of the bilateral relations and the civil society in general.
