The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski welcomed the Minister on Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Nikolaj Mladenov 

In the discussions, both sides underlined the highly developed relations between the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Bulgaria in every area which benefit both countries, but also have important role in the stability of the whole region.

President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski underlined that the parliamentary cooperation in both legislative houses exists on different levels, and in this framework the official visit of the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Tsetska Tsacheva- Dangovska is expected to be realized in near future. “As responsible politicians we should continue working on elimination of some historic prejudice and stereotypes, which means that we should start from our mutual interests and that is the Euro-Atlantic Integration# underlined the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia. The President Veljanoski expressed his apprereciation for the support provided by the Republic of Bulgaria in the accomplishment of our goal – the integration in NATO and EU and requested support in the Council of Europe, where the Republic of Macedonia is taking over the Chairmanship of this oldest European institution.  

The economic cooperation was referred to during this meeting; there is space for bigger dynamics in different forms. This means that the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Bulgaria, as neighbouring states will contribute in the stability and the development of the region and wider, underlined the President Veljanoski. 

 The Minister on Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Nikolaj Mladenov underlined the highly developed parliamentary cooperation of the two parliaments which significantly contributes for the overall bilateral relations, our commitment is to deepen these relations and this is why we fully support the Republic of Macedonia in its Euro-Atlantic perspective.  One country cannot benefit or prospect over another, and that is why we truly like to se Macedonia as Member of EU and NATO since you have deserved it.
