The MEPs will debate on the aspirations of Macedonia towards EU

MEPs will discuss the European Union aspirations of Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Turkey on Wednesday 10 February. issues to focus on include reform of the public administration and judiciary, the fight against corruption and the improvement of women’s rights and inter-ethnic relations as well as efforts to find a mutually satisfactory solution to the name issue" with Greece

As a reminder: The Foreign Affairs Committee from the European Parliament adopted three Progress Resolutions for these three countries in 2009. The Resolution for Macedonia was adopted with 56 votes “for”, 5” restrained”, for Croatia- 54”for”, and 8 “restrained”, Turkey- 60 “for”, 11 “restrained” 

The committee found that negotiations with The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia could begin "in the near future
