MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA, MR. TRAJKO VELJANOSKI AND MR. JOHN HYDE, MP FROM THE PARLIAMENT OF WESTERN AUSTRALIA 

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski welcomed Mr. John Hyde, MP from the Parliament of Western Australia. Mr. Milorad Dodevski, MP from the Election unit 9, covering Australia attended this meeting.

Many issues of mutual interest, as well as the development of the cooperation were covered at the meeting. It was concluded that the Macedonian Community contributes to the overall social and economic development of Australia and that it is a significant factor for the close and friendly relations between the two states.

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski expressed pleasure that the agreements regulating the social and pension insurance of the citizens from both states have entered into force.

Also, the President raised the issue on liberalization of the visa regime, which will provide the Macedonian citizens to travel freely to Australia.

Mr. Dodevski informed on the efforts regarding the promotion of the air traffic interconnectivity and the opportunities for participation of Australian air transport companies in this sector.

The MP, Mr. Hyde expressed pleasure from his visit to the Republic of Macedonia, calling for promotion of cooperation in all potential areas, especially in the area of economy and mining.

He underlined that the Australian MPs are working on proper acknowledgement of the Republic of Macedonia by Australia and further promotion of our state. He also expressed hope that in the framework of the overall activities of the Australian Government for liberalization of the trade, there will be progression of the visa liberalisation as well.
