21st march- MEDITERRANEAN day

Today, the Mediterranean Region is marking the 21st of March- the Mediterranean Day.

On the occasion of the Mediterranean Day, the Head of the Delegation from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, Mr. Ilija Dimovski, underlined that the Republic of Macedonia joins the three years old tradition- ceremonial marking of this day by the Member States of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean.

In the same time, it is our pleasure to remind that the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia is a full-fledged member of this significant regional forum since its establishment in 2006 and the Delegation from the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia actively participates in the work of PAM.

The Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, in the framework of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean shares the fundamental values of: the right of free life, every human to enjoy in the benefits of the civilization, the right of the nations to democratically choose the model of their internal governance avoiding the war as an instrument of understanding among people.

Unfortunately, we are witnessing the unpleasant events which have happened and are still happening in the Mediterranean Region, especially in Egypt, Tunisia and at the moment in Libya, which left deep marks on the lives of the citizens from these countries. We sympathies with these tragedies and in the same time, as representatives of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia strongly appeals  termination of all war activities and establishment of democratic governance, rule of law and respect of the fundamental human rights, since we sincerely believe in creating and cherishing the fundamental social values.
