THE CHAIRMAN OF THE COMMITTEE ON FINANCING AND BUDGET, MR. JOVAN MANASIJEVSKI HAD A MEETING WITH THE DIRECTOR OF THE OFFICE OF THE WORLD BANK IN THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA, MS. LILIA BURUNCHUK 

The Chair of the Committee on Financing and Budget, Mr. Jovan Manasijevski and the Members of the Committee, Ms. Vladanka Avirovik and Ms. Julieta Marku had a meeting with the Director of the Office of the World Bank in the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Lilia Burunchuk. 

The Director of the Office of the World Bank in the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Lilia Burunchuk presented the Strategy for Partnership adopted in October 2010, which is focused on the economic growth, boost of the competitiveness, education, healthcare, transport and the ecology agenda which is more and more important. Among the projects which will be financed in the future period is the Shtip-Nish Conduit and the Lukovo Pole Dam. 

Ms. Burunchuk informed that there is an opinion in the future- instead of providing direct budget support, the World Bank to provide guarantee for the Government of the Republic of Macedonia, thus providing loans from the market of capital with much lower interest. The Members of the Committee on Finance and Budget underlined the need for a Meeting of the Committee on Finance and Budget on which the plans and the activities of the World Bank will be presented for the current and for the three following fiscal years. The approved credits from the World Bank for financing the projects in the area of infrastructure were said to be especially useful for the development of the Republic of Macedonia.

Also, the implications of the economic crises were emphasised. This economic crisis influenced the macro-economic indicator, that is the economic growth of the state.

In the end, all participants expressed appreciation for the meting which was said to be very useful for the cooperation between the Committee on Finance and Budget, that is the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and the World Bank.
