meeting of ms. Svetlana jakimovska, vice president of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and the delegation of the foreign policy committee on the parliament of the republic of hungary

The Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Svetlana Jakimovska, welcomed the delegation of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Parliament of the Republic of Hungary, headed by Mr. Mihaj Bala, Chair of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Parliament of Hungary.

The delegation was comprised of Mr. Marton Gjongoshi and Mr. Atila Gruber, Vice Chairs of the Committee, Ms. Noemi Koranji, Advisor, as well as Mr. Ferenc Kekeshi, Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary to the Republic of Macedonia and Mr. Atila Pinter, Deputy Head of the Mission of the Embassy.  

The Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Svetlana Jakimovska expressed pleasure from the visit of the Hungarian Delegation, especially since the visit is during the Hungarian Presidency of the European Union. 

Also, she expressed pleasure for the mutual relations and expressed hope for future promotion of these relations. The Republic of Macedonia makes continuous efforts for promotion of the mutual cooperation emphasising the parliamentary dimension. Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the Parliament of the Republic of Hungary is established in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.

The Republic of Macedonia is interested for cooperation in the area of economy and intensification of the business meetings between the associations of the two states. 

The Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Svetlana Jakimovska informed the guests that the debate on early elections, especially on the activities in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia in direction of fair and democratic elections, election of the Chair of the State Election Committee, Amendments of the Election Code and establishment of the Committee on the Condition of the Election List are present in the state. 

At the end, Ms. Jakimovska expressed appreciation for the efforts and the support of the Republic of Hungary for abolishment of the visa regime of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia as well as for the support in the area of politics and respect of the efforts of the Republic of Macedonia for accomplishment of the Euro-Atlantic goal. 

The Chair of the Foreign Policy Committee of the Parliament of the Republic of Hungary, Mr. Mihaj Bala, underlined that in the framework of the Hungarian Presidency, on 5 and 6th May 2011, the Meeting of the Foreign Policy Committee will be held. The enlargement of the EU with the Western Balkan States will be one of the topics of the meeting, and that is why they are visiting the region and exercising their functions.

Also, he underlined that he is certain that after the elections the Euro-integration tendency will be present and that it will be good to open the negotiations between Republic of Macedonia and the European Union as soon as possible. 

The Republic of Hungary will continue to support the Republic of Macedonia in the Euro-integrative processes.
