SUPPORT AND CONDOLENCES TO THE JAPANESE PEOPLE FROM ALL CITIZENS OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA

The Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Jani Makraduli had a meeting with H.E. Shiego Ivatani, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Macedonia, located in Vienna, who visited the Republic of Macedonia and handed over the credentials.

In the introductory address Mr. Makraduli expressed condolences to the Japanese people for the tragedy and underlined that there are no words that can substitute the victims and that can express our sorrow, bearing in mind that Skopje itself was a victim of an earthquake. He underlined that he loves Japan because of its highly developed technology and that this tragedy taught us that we should always tend to develop the newest technologies.

Also, Mr. Makraduli underlined that he is a member of the Parliamentary Group of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for Cooperation with the Parliament of Japan and expressed hope that Japan will be back on its old track.

The Republic of Macedonia, as a small country and Government, cannot support Japan as it has supported Skopje, but all citizens support and sympathize with the citizens of Japan. 

H.E. Shiego Ivatani stated that he was informed that the Macedonian Government supported the citizens of Japan, but also, that he is astonished by the huge support and condolences of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia and he is grateful to all. 

Also he underlined that the high technology cannot stop natural disasters, but it can be used for protection of the nature from grand disasters. 

Japan will donate 124 000 Euros to the Republic of Macedonia for reconstruction of primary schools. 

The Ambassador Ivatani was interested in the internal situation of the Republic of Macedonia, as a basis for promotion and deepening the relations between the two stets on many levels: economic , cultural, international level, people-to- people ties,  etc.

In this direction, the Ambassador informed that in 2014 the 20th anniversary from the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Japan and the Republic of Macedonia will be celebrated.
