MACEDONIA SHOULD BE PART OF THE EUROPEAN UNION

The Delegation of the Committee on  European Issues of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia comprised of Mr. Hajrula Misini, Head of Delegation and the members Ms. Silvana Boneva, Ms. Marinela Tusheva, Mr. Orhan Ibraimi, visiting the Republic of Slovakia, had a meeting with the Delegation of the Committee on European Issues of the National Council of the Republic of Slovakia, headed by the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Yvan Shtefanec. 

The support for the Republic of Macedonia by the Republic of Slovakia on our path to the European Union was confirmed on the meeting, and it was underlined that the Republic of Macedonia should be part of EU, which is the official politics of Slovakia, supported by all political parties in the country. 

Regarding the Greek blockage, it was underlined that the European integration of the  Republic of Macedonia is not in the interest of Macedonia, but it is in the interests of Greece.

The interlocutors referred to the Euro integrative processes of both states, emphasising the Euro integrative path of Slovakia, its practices and experience in the pre-accession period. 

The Macedonian Delegation had a meeting with Ms. Andrea Eleshkova- Matisova, Head of the Office of the European Commission in Slovakia, as well as representatives of the Information service of the European Parliament in Slovakia.
