MEETING OF MR. ANTONIJO MILOŠOSKI WITH THE PARLIAMENTARY FRIENDSHIP GROUP FROM KUWAIT
Mr. Antonijo Milošoski, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, today had a meeting with the Delegation of the Parliamentary Friendship Group of the National Assembly of Kuwait. Also present at the meeting were the members of the Committee Mr. Jordan Pačkov, Mr. Kenan Hasipi, Ms. Marinela Tuševa, Ms. Tanja Tomić, and Mr. Safet Biševac. The Delegation from Kuwait was headed by Mr. Valid M. Al-Tabtabae, Chairman of the Friendship Group, and Mr. Jaman Al-Harbash, Deputy Chairman of the Group.
At the beginning of the meeting Mr. Milošoski expressed satisfaction form the fact that the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Macedonia and the State of Kuwait are established under the constitutional name of our country.
Mr. Milošoski described the relations between the two countries as friendly, with mutual respect and political will for their further development, emphasizing that the two countries have signed an agreement on mutual support regarding the candidacy of any of the two countries for membership in the Human Rights Council for the period 2013-2016.
Although the trade is not on the desired level, the Agreement for technical and economic cooperation signed by the Governments of the countries established the legal preconditions necessary for intensification of the economic cooperation.
The members of the Delegation from Kuwait expressed gratitude for the hospitality and emphasized the close and friendly relations. The guests also expressed their view that the meetings they are having with their Macedonian colleagues will strengthen the relations on parliamentary level. They also expressed hope that Kuwait will soon open an Embassy in the Republic of Macedonia, which would contribute to improvement of the economic cooperation, as well as opening of a direct airline between Skopje and Kuwait.
Both sides agreed that these initiatives deserve to be further discussed and reviewed on the level of Governments. They also concluded that this kind of visits give and additional impetus to the development of the relations, and confirm the interest and readiness of the two countries for their further development and intensification.
