Macedonia and Israel continue their good cooperation

The Member Parliament in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and Chairman of the Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the Parliament of the State of Israel today met with H.E. Mr. Jossi Amrani, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Republic of Macedonia, resident in Zagreb.

Mr. Trajanov welcomed the Ambassador and wished him successful work. He informed Mr. Armani about the work of the Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the Parliament of the State of Israel and the good relations between the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and the Knesset.

Mr. Trajanov pointed out that the two countries have good cooperation in the field of agriculture, tourism, medicine and education and that a lot of young people would like to continue their education at the universities in Israel.

Ambassador Amrani said that parliaments have an important role in the overall relations between the countries. He emphasized that Macedonia and Israel have signed a number of bilateral agreements in the field of economy and that a lot of Israeli businessmen are very active in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, primarily because of the excellent possibilities for cooperation in the field of agriculture.

Ambassador Amrani also pointed out the importance of the Holocaust Memorial Center in Skopje. He said that its opening is an important message to the younger generation in the region and that it is a center of tolerance and understanding that could become an international training center where young people could learn about tolerance and cooperation.
