MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI WITH MR. MICHAEL SPINDELEGGER AND MR. MIROSLAV LAJCEK 

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski had a meeting with the Federal Minister on European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Mr. Michael Spindelegger and the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign affairs of the Slovakian Republic, Mr. Miroslav Lajcek. 

The President Veljanoski underlined that the relations between the Republic of Macedonia, the Republic of Austria and  the Republic of Slovakia are characterized with friendship and understanding, and confirmed the fact that the support from these countries is sincere and important. 

Regarding the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, the President Veljanoski underlined that it is focused on several issues; the most important being the European integration, as well as implementation of the adopted laws and reforms. 

The President Veljanoski underlined that the Republic of Macedonia, in the past three years, receives recommendation from the European Commission for opening accession negotiation with the European Union, but the path is blocked by our Southern neighbour. Still, the Republic of Macedonia will not give up on its strategic goals, the full-fledged membership in EU and NATO. 

Expressing his appreciation and pleasure form the visit to the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Miroslav Lajcek underlined that he would like to send a positive message regarding the achieved reforms and that the Republic of Macedonia should receive the support from all Member States of the European Union. 

Mr. Michael Spindelegger underlined that he supports finding a solution of the name issue as soon as possible, which will open the path for the Republic of Macedonia to join the European family.
