THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE DEMOCRACY ON LOCAL LEVEL IS THE BASIS FOR THE DEMOCRACY ON CENTRAL LEVEL IN EVERY COUNTRY 

The Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Suzana Saliu welcomed the delegation of the municipality Tatlisu, comprised of Mayor of the Municipality, Mr. Hajri Orchan and the Chairman of the Council, Mr. Muzafer Aydin. 

The Vice President Saliu informed the guests on the structure and the work of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia; referred to the EC Progress Report and the positive remarks on the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia. 

The Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Suzana Saliu welcomed the cooperation on local level, initiated by the Municipalities Chair and Tatlisy, underlining that the local self governance, in other words, the democracy on local level is the basis for the democracy on central level in every state. 

She also underlined that the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia is always opened for cooperation. 

The mayor Orchan informed Ms. Saliu that the Municipalities Chair and Tatlisu ratified the Municipal Twinning Protocol, which is the first agreement on cooperation between the Northern Cyprus and the Republic of Macedonia. 

The Mayor also referred to the possibilities for broadening the cooperation in other areas, underlining the interparliamentary cooperation and invited Ms. Saliu to visit Northern Cyprus.
