THE PARLIAMENTARY COOPERATION CONTRIBUTES TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF FRIENDLY DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS

Mr. Hajrula Misini - Chairman of the Committee on European Issues and Chairman of the Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran met with Mr. Alireza Sabzali, Chargé d' Affaires a.i. of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Republic of Macedonia. Mr. Misini exchanged views with the Iranian Ambassador on the possibilities for development of the political, cultural and economic cooperation, as well as of the cooperation in the field of healthcare between the two countries.

Mr. Sabzali emphasized the importance of parliamentary cooperation as a bridge for development of friendly diplomatic relations. He informed Mr. Misini that soon Iran will open an Embassy in the Republic of Macedonia and that the Iranian Parliament is considering the establishing of a parliamentary group for cooperation with Macedonia.

The Chairman of the Committee on European Issues of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, who is also Chairman of the Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the Parliament of the Islamic Republic of Iran, shared the view about the importance of parliamentary cooperation and about the need for establishing closer relations between the parliaments of the two countries.

Mr. Misini expressed appreciation to the Islamic Republic of Iran for recognizing the Republic of Macedonia under its constitutional name. He also informed the Iranian Ambassador about Macedonia’s aspirations for integration in the European Union and NATO.
