INTERNATIONAL PARLIAMENTARY SCHOLARSHIP- TRADITIONAL ACTIVITY OF THE GERMAN BUNDESTAG 

The Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Ms. Svetlana Jakimovska had a meeting with the scholarship students of the International Parliamentary Scholarships (IPS) Project of the German Bundestag. The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Ms. Gudrun Steinacker, Mr. Antonijo Milošoski - Chairman of the Parliamentary Group of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for Cooperation with the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany and the scholarship students of the IPS Project: Andrea Jovevski and Elena Mitrevska attended the meeting

Vice President Jakimovska expressed appreciation to Ambassador Gudrun Steinacker for her efforts for continuation of the IPS Project .She encouraged the students to learn as much as they can about the work of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and of the Bundestag, and after they complete their 5-month stay in Germany, invited the students to visit the Assembly after their stay in Germany and share their experiences and impressions about the work of the Bundestag

Ms. Jakimovska informed the students that they will receive promotional material from the Republic of Macedonia prepared by the Ministry in the context of better presentation of the Republic of Macedonia. 

She informed the German Ambassador about the programme that the students have in the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, where they will meet the heads of most of the Assembly Departments; Ms. Jakimovska also said that the students will have the opportunity to follow the work of the Assembly from the gallery of the Plenary Hall, as well as to attend meetings of the working bodies.

The Ambassador Steinacker expressed the satisfaction from the participation in the preparatory discussions with the scholarship students that will visit the Bundestag.

The Chair of the Parliamentary Group of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for Cooperation with the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Antonijo Milošoski was interested to hear the expectations of the students from the Macedonian Assembly. 

The Vice President Jakimovska underlined that the initiative or a Regional Conference of IPS Alumni Associations, that will is scheduled for 11 and 12 April was welcomed and supported by the Presidency of the Assembly, which confirms the opinion of the leadership to the IPS Program and Alumni Association. 

The International Parliamentary Scholarships (IPS) is a traditional activity of the German Bundestag. It is a project of the German Parliament in cooperation with the Technical University, Freie Universität Berlin, and Humboldt University, providing opportunity to young graduate students from South-Eastern Europe to learn more about the parliamentary system in Germany.  

The Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia is included in the IPS Project since 2001.  The German Bundestag, the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and the German Embassy are the institutions authorised for implementation of the Project.
