meeting of the President Veljanoski and Mr. Luke Simpkins, Federal Member of the Parliament of Australia

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski expressing his pleasure from the visit, underlined that the meetings will improve the bilateral relations and the cooperation with friendly Australia, which are continuously improving.

Mr. Simpkins underlined that he is amazed by the progress and the modernization of the Capital and that this progress is an indicator for the economic stability.

He was interests in the Euro Atlantic aspirations of the Republic of Macedonia and expressed hope that the discussions with Mr. Nimitz will be fruitful. 

The meeting also referred to the Macedonian community in Australia, and Mr Simpkins underlined that this community contributes in the social and economic life of Australia. He added that over 1000 Macedonian voters are part of his electorate.

Both interlocutors exchanged opinions on the oncoming elections in the Republic of Macedonia and in Australia, as well as on the possibilities for broadening the economic cooperation between the Republic of Macedonia and Australia.

They emphasised the development of the area of mining and raw materials research in the Republic of Macedonia, since companies from Western Australia are interested in possibilities for investments in this area.
