MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI AND THE MEMBER OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT SUBCOMMITTEE ON HUMAN RIGHTS, MR. RICHARD HOWITT

The President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski, welcomed Mr. Howitt and expressed appreciation for the support provided to the Republic of Macedonia in its Euro integrative process, and underlined that the reports drafted by Mr. Howitt are objective, principle, integral and benefit the faster integration of the Republic of Macedonia in the European Union.

The focus of the discussion was directed on how to progress further in the Euro integrative process and how to deal with the challenges it is facing.

Committing himself on overcoming the political differences as soon as possible and joint work of  the relevant political entities on the strategic affairs for the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Veljanoski underlined that the political will of all entities should be clear and unambiguous in direction of a joint step forward of the country. 

The meeting also referred to several competences of the Subcommittee on Human Rights and to several aspects of the events in the Republic of Macedonia by the end of last year.

In this context, at the end of the meeting, the President Veljanoski suggested Mr. Howitt with the Assembly staff to visit the Plenary Hall of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.
