The Australian MP, Mr. Andrew Elsbury, expressed his pleasure from the opportunity to visit the Republic of Macedonia, as well as the opportunity to meet with the President of the Assembly of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski.

The interlocutors exchanged opinions on the importance of the contribution that the Macedonian community in Australia provides, and concluded that everyone refers to the Macedonian community with piety. They also underlined that the Macedonian community is pleased with the relationship established on all levels of governance in Australia and with the methods through which it is rewarded for its commitment and loyalty.

They also spoke of the importance of improving the overall relations between the two countries, especially from the aspect of Australian companies investing in the Republic of Macedonia.

The MP, Mr. Elsbury, expressed his conviction that it he will continue his efforts advocating the Macedonian Community in Australia and that he and his colleagues will continue to work on the process of the recognition of the Republic of Macedonia under its constitutional name and the recognition of the Macedonian Community is a mitigating factor thereof.

During the meeting, the Australian MP expressed his admiration for the rich and ancient history that our country has, both, the cultural heritage and natural wealth he had seen during the visit of Ohrid and the numerous ancient Orthodox Churches.
