MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI WITH THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF POLAND, MR. BRONISŁAW KOMOROWSKI

Today, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski, met with the President of the Republic of Poland, Mr. Bronisław Komorowski. During the meeting President Veljanoski informed his guest on the current political events in the Republic of Macedonia and the successfully conducted local elections.

During the meeting, the President Veljanoski expressed his pleasure and appreciation for the permanent support that the Republic of Macedonia receives from the Republic of Poland. In relation to the European integration process of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Veljanoski highlighted that the turbulent past of the Balkans is behind us and that the citizens of the region look towards the European future of all the Balkan states. During the discussion, President Veljanoski also pointed out that the integration of the entire region will be an important factor for the stabilization of Europe, underlining that the Republic of Macedonia implements all the necessary reforms through the legislative house and in general

President Komorowski underlined that the Republic of Poland permanently supports the process of EU enlargement, especially the enlargement with the Balkans. The President Komorowski, underlining that the politicians, as well as the citizens of Poland understand how complicated the integration process is- especially the reforms in that path, congratulated the President of the Assembly, Mr. Veljanoski, for the conducted reforms in relation to the Euro-integration process, highlighting that the role of the parliament is crucial for every democratic nation in the integration of its state.

During the meeting both speakers referred to future collaboration in the field of agriculture, where Poland is ready to share its experiences, especially taking into consideration that since its membership in the EU the biggest benefits have been felt by the rural areas, and their products are widely distributed in European markets.

Both speakers agreed that the parliamentary relations are on a satisfactory level, but they should be further promoted and realized at the highest level, expressing their conviction that this will happen in the near future.
