THE EXCHANGE OF EXPERIENCES ON THE HEALTH CASE SYSTEM IN the REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA AND THE CZECH REPUBLIC CAN LEAD TO IMPROVED HEALTH PROTECTION OF THE CITIZENS

At the meeting of the Health Care Committees of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and the Parliament of the Czech Republic, the parliamentarians had an opportunity to exchange opinions and experiences in the field of health care that can contribute to better health protection for the citizens of the two countries.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee on Heath Care of the Assembly Mr. Mende Dinevski welcomed the guests from the Czech Delegation and informed them about the composition, work and competences of his Committee.

Speaking about the manner of functioning of the health care system in the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Dinevski mentioned the latest amendments to the legislation and the reforms aimed at developing a more efficient system in the interest of the patients.

The Deputy Chairman of the Health Care Committee from the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Prof. Dr. Ales Roztocil said that after World War II the health care system in his country had been in a bad condition, but that with the later reforms it managed to reach the European level.

He informed his Macedonian colleagues about the organization, capacity and manned of functioning of the health care system in the Czech Republic.

Dr. Ales Roztocil also said that although the country can be proud of many things regarding helath protection, there are areas where there is room for imrpovement and emphasized pevention as the basis for the good health of the population.

He added that despite the possibilities that the health care system in the Czech Republic offers to its citizens, those in lower social status groups usually do not use them sufficiently.

The parliamentarians exchanged views regarding HPV vaccines, the Pap tests, physical therapy and other specific medical issues.

Both sides expressed satisfaction form the possibility to exchange experiences that could contribute to the improvement of the situation with the health cares systems in both countries.

The members of the Delegation from the Czech Republic also met with the Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia Ms. Suzana Saliu.
