THE PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI HAD MEETINGS WITH THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT, MR. LASZLO SURJAN, THE PRESIDENT OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF ROMANIA, MR. VALERIU STEFAN ZGONEA AND THE PRESIDENT OF THE SERBIAN PARLIAMENT, MR. NEBOJŠA STEFANOVIĆ

In the afternoon of the 10th Conference of Presidents of Parliament of SEECP, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski had a meeting with the Vice President of the European Parliament, Mr. Laszlo Surjan. At the meeting the President Veljanoski underlined that the Republic of Macedonia is strongly interested to continue giving fresh political impulses of dialogue and together with the colleagues MEPs and MPs of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, to constructively contribute in the European Integration process.

He underlined that the engagement of the Rapporteur for the Republic of Macedonia to the European Parliament, Mr. Richard Howitt is highly appreciated and assists the overall process of European aspiration of the Republic of Macedonia.

The President Veljanoski also had a bilateral meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Romania, Mr. Valeriu Stefan Zgonea.

The meeting referred to the final documents of the 10th Conference of Presidents of Parliament of SEECP, and Mr. Zgonea underlined the positive impressions for the Conference.

He underlined that the next Conference of Presidents of Parliament will be held in Romania and that there will be continuously positive progress.

At the meeting, both Presidents underlined that the Republic of Macedonia and Romania have constructive and open political dialogue, based on partnership and mutual respect.

In the past few years there have not been meetings on the level of Presidents of Parliament or Parliamentary Groups for Cooperation; hence the two parliaments expressed will for reciprocal visits in very near future and meetings between the Parliamentary Groups of the House of Representatives of Romania and the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.

The meeting also referred to the minorities of Macedonia in Romania and the Vlachs in the Republic of Macedonia and the interlocutors expressed their pleasure from the situation in this area.

10th Conference of Presidents of Parliament of SEECP, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski had a meeting with the President of the Serbian Parliament, Mr. Nebojša Stefanović

At the meeting, both Presidents confirmed the successful cooperation on highest level of official delegations, as well as visits of MP Groups and Committees that contribute in the exchange of experience for the Euro integration processes and further perspectives of the Region.

The President of the Serbian Parliament underlined that Serbia and Macedonia are prepared for opening accession negotiation with EU, as well as that the economic cooperation between the two states should be intensified.
