The president veljanoski welcomed the newly appointed ambassador of the republic of serbia, ms. dushanka divjak- tomik

Both interlocutors expressed pleasure from the meeting and the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski wished success in the work to the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia, Ms. Dushanka Divjak – Tomik. 

The President Veljanoski underlined that the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Serbia have excellent bilateral cooperation and intensity of meetings, but that the economic cooperation should be increased. 

Both interlocutors also agreed that bigger parliamentary cooperation is needed, not only on the level of Speakers, but also on the level of the Parliamentary Groups for Cooperation and Parliamentary Committees. 

The interlocutors evaluated that the joint Session of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Government of the Republic of Macedonia is another indicator for the good neighbourly relations. 

The meeting also referred to the challenges faced by the two states regarding the integration in the European Union, as well as on the dispute between the churches of Macedonia and Serbia. The President Veljanoski and the Ambassador Divjak- Tomik agreed that this dispute can be surpassed through dialogue.

The President Veljanoski underlined the openness of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for cooperation and immediate communication with the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia to the Republic of Macedonia.
