3RD MEETING OF THE NATIONAL EUROPEAN INTEGRATION COUNCIL
The National European Integration Council held the Third Meeting on which the Report on the Realized Activities of the National Program on the Adoption of the Acquis – Revision 2014 for the period 01.07.2014 - 30.09.2014 and the Activity Plan of the National European Integration Council for November 2014 – November 2015.
Mr. Robert Liddel, Head of the Department on Political Affairs, Justice and Internal Affairs; Ms. Marina Kurte, Political Advisor, attended the Meeting as representatives of the EU Delegation to the Republic of Macedonia, also Mr. Giovani Vietri, Attaché in the Embassy of the Republic of Italy to the Republic of Macedonia attended the meeting.
The Report on the Realized Activities of the National Program on the Adoption of the Acquis – Revision 2014 for the period 01.07.2014 - 30.09.2014 was presented by the Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia on European Affairs, Mr. Fatmir Besimi. He informed the Council on the activities that followed the Report of the European Commission on the progress of the Republic of Macedonia for 2014. The priority areas are defined and included in the process of drafting the NPAA 2015: political dialogue, judiciary, freedom of expression and media, interethnic relations, regional cooperation. Since 11 November 2014, a total of 20 laws have been adopted (51%) and 64 bylaws (44.8%) from the planned ones in NPAA. In regard with the economic development, a growth of GDP of 2.9% was evident in the first 6 months of the year, which is the best achieved growth compared with the countries from the region and second in EU.
The following representatives participated in the debate on the Report on the Realized Activities of the National Program on the Adoption of the Acquis – Revision 2014 for the third quarter of 2014: Ilija Dimovski, Deputy Chair of the Council, Mr. Antonijo Miloshoski, Ms. Meral Uzeiri Ferati, Ms. Nora Aliti, Mr. Mirvan Xhemaili, Ms. Silvana Boneva, Ms. Solza Grcheva, MPs and Members of the Council; Ms. Orhan Ibraimi, MP and Deputy Member of the Council; Mr. Dimitar Minchev, Member of the Council from the Cabinet of the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Vlado Kambovski, Member of the Council from the Macedonian Academy on Science and Art and Mr. Antoni Peshev, Representative of the Chamber of Commerce of Macedonia.
At the Meeting, the Council adopted the Activity Plan of the National European Integration Council for November 2014 – November 2015.
