FAREWELL MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA, MR. TRAJKO VELJANOSKI AND THE AMERICAN AMBASSADOR, MR. PAUL WOHLERS
At the beginning, the interlocutors expressed pleasure from today’s meeting, as well as all meetings in the past period, which are indicator for successful cooperation between the two states. The interlocutors underlined that the cooperation was on exceptionally high level, with mutual understanding and friendship.
At the Meeting, the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski underlined that he sees United States of America as great friend that always stands by the Republic of Macedonia and its citizens and expressed appreciation for the support thus far for the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia.
The President Veljanoski expressed hope that the support from USA to the Republic of Macedonia will continue in the future and that the most important strategic goals of the Republic of Macedonia, the Membership in the NATO Alliance and the European Union will be fulfilled. The interlocutors agreed that the Euro – Atlantic integration of the Republic of Macedonia is exceptionally important, for the Region, but also for Europe as a whole.
The Ambassador Wohlers expressed his pleasure from the cooperation with the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia and the President Veljanoski during his mandate. He underlined his hope that the number of visits from American Congressmen and Senators will be increased, thus continuing the cooperation.
At the end of the Meeting, the President Veljanoski wished the Ambassador Wohlers success in his future engagements and underlined the openness of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia for cooperation as well as immediate and continuous communication with the Embassy of the United States of America to the Republic of Macedonia.
