MEETING OF PRESIDENT XHAFERI WITH THE DEPUTY – PRIME MINISTER ABAZOVIC
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi, had a meeting with the Deputy – Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazovic, who is in a two-day official visit to the Republic of North Macedonia. At the meeting also participated Ms. Dafina Stojanovska, Chair of the Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the Parliament of Montenegro.
Assessing the political relations as excellent without open issues, President Xhaferi underlined that both sides can use their potentials with joint efforts in order to intensify the economic cooperation and increase trade, and expressed confidence that this visit will contribute in this direction.
Regarding the European integrations, Xhaferi congratulated the progress of Montenegro and informed that the Republic of North Macedonia through open dialogue is working to remove the obstacles on the way to full membership in the European Union.
Emphasizing the regional cooperation, he expressed hope that all will continue to advocate for deepening of regional relations as a foundation for a more intense economic cooperation and partnership for a joint Euro-Atlantic future.
The Deputy – Prime Minister Abazovic congratulated everything that the country has done in the past period at the domestic level and the region as well, and expressed hope that soon will see the Republic of North Macedonia and Montenegro as part of the EU. But for that to happen, he emphasized, changes, hard work and more dialogue and cooperation are needed.
While welcoming the presence of the chair of the Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the Parliament of Montenegro, Ms. Dafina Stojanovska, he expressed hope that in the upcoming period the parliamentary cooperation will intensify.
Both interlocutors stressed the importance of giving priority to the dialogue in achieving joint solutions and agreed that the Republic of North Macedonia and Montenegro can demonstrate that the cooperation in the region can be highly qualitative at all levels.
