MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT VELJANOSKI AND THE PRESIDENT OF THE GRAND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF TURKEY, MR. CEMIL ÇIÇEK
Today, Mr. Cemil Çiçek, President of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey, in the framework of his official visit to the Republic of Macedonia met the President of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia, Mr. Trajko Veljanoski.
Both Presidents of Parliament agreed that the reciprocal official visits between the Republic of Macedonia and the Republic of Turkey confirm the highly developed friendly relations and contribute in the cooperation of the Parliamentary Groups for Friendship, as well as committees and administration.
The meeting referred to the developments in the two states and the region. The significant cooperation between the Macedonia and Turkey was underlined especially in the area of economy, culture and education, but also the possibilities for further promotion thereof. The President Veljanoski expressed appreciation for the support that the Republic of Macedonia receives in regard with the Euro – Atlantic integration especially in regard with NATO, whose Member is Turkey. The interlocutors confirmed that the regional stability is very important and the both states have significantly contributed in this area.
The meeting referred to the Turkish community living in the Republic of Macedonia and its positive social and economic activity.
