PRESIDENT XHAFERI MET WITH H.E. JAROSLAV LUDVA
The President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Talat Xhaferi met today with H.E. Jaroslav Ludva, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of North Macedonia.
The President conveyed his congratulations on the appointment of the new Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Republic of North Macedonia, wishing him successful work and expressing hope that his personal engagement will contribute to further strengthening and promoting the bilateral relations between the two countries. He informed the ambassador on the work of the Assembly and its working bodies, the challenges facing the country and the latest developments on the political stage. With regard to parliamentary cooperation, he highlighted that he expects continuation of the cooperation between the two countries with mutual visits at the highest parliamentary level.
In addition, President Xhaferi pointed out that the continuous and strong support we receive from the Czech Republic on our path to European integration is especially appreciated and respected and expressed hope that this support will be strengthened during the Czech presidency of the Council of EU, in the second half of 2022. He also thanked the Visegrád Group, which is among the strongest supporters of Western Balkan countries’ membership in the European Union, and for the clear indication that bilateral issues should not be an obstacle to speeding up negotiations with EU candidate countries from the Western Balkans. The Czech Republic has always emphasized the fact that strengthening pre-accession partnerships will lead to the improvement of infrastructural links between the European Union and the Western Balkans, as well as to the principle of good governance.
Ambassador Ludva stressed that he is well acquainted with the political situation in the region and expressed satisfaction with the opportunity to continue his rich diplomatic career in the Republic of North Macedonia. He pointed out that the Czech Republic is a strong supporter of our country's European integration and expects to accelerate the process of integration of the Western Balkan countries into the European Union during the Czech presidency of the Council of the EU after the French presidency.
At the end of the meeting, the two interlocutors stressed that bilateral relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Czech Republic are at a high level and there is mutual interest and opportunity to enhance economic cooperation.
