PRESIDENT XHAFERI OFFICALLY RECEIVES THE PROGRESS REPORT OF THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION
Today, the Ambassador of the European Union officially handed over the Progress Report on the country from the European Commission to the President of the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia. The meeting took place today due to the official absence of President Xhaferi who participated in the Conference of Speakers of Parliaments of Member States of the Council of Europe, in Athens.
The Report was assessed as positive, objective and realistic in relation to the Assembly as a central institution in which the debate of all political parties takes place. The interlocutors also referred to the Jean Monnet Dialogue and the achieved goals, as well as to the expectations from the upcoming cycle of the Dialogue, emphasizing the importance of active involvement and interest in the process of all political parties in the Assembly.
President Xhaferi also referred to the course of local elections, the process of verification of mandates of the new MPs after the election of the MPs from the current parliamentary composition for mayors, as well as the agenda of the Assembly after the completion of the second round of local elections, including the planned dynamics for adoption of the State Budget.
At the end, they jointly stated that the communication between the EU Office and the Assembly is always open, direct and constant, which is in favor of the country’s progress on the European integration path.
