The Republic of Macedonia is prepared to solve all issues through dialogue and mutual understanding

Mr. Pavle Trajanov, MP and Member of the Delegation of the Assembly of the Republic of Macedonia to the Parliamentary Assembly of NATO, participates in the 60th Annual Session of NATO PA, held in Hague, the Kingdom of Netherlands, from 21 to 24 November.

The Committee on Political Affairs, inter alia, reviewed the Draft – Report “ NATO Partnership and the Open Doors Policies of the Alliance”.

In the debate, Mr. Trajanov referred to the position of the Republic of Macedonia underlining that our state implements numerous reforms and works on the development of the democratic institutions respecting the rule of law.

Also, Mr. Trajanov stated that even though the Republic of Macedonia has realized all reforms in the area of defence, due to the blockade of our Southern neighbour, it is not yet member of NATO.

He also said that the Republic of Macedonia is prepared to solve all issues through dialogue and mutual understanding and called upon the NATO Member States’ more active inclusion and assistance in surpassing the name dispute.

Today, at the beginning of the Plenary Session of NATO PA, Mr. Hugh Bayley, the President of NATO PA; Mr. Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of Netherlands, Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of NATO and other officials will address before the attendees.

During his stay, Trajanov met members of delegations from Bulgaria, Turkey, Sweden, Switzerland, England, Montenegro and Serbia.
